Surrounded by mountains, this natural beach offers breathtaking views of small bays, turquoise and crystal clear water, and rocks. Special footwear is recommended to explore this rocky beach, which is suitable for solo travelers and those who enjoy a relaxing stay. Cala del Turco is convenient to access, the road is less than 500 meters away and the parking lot is less than 300 meters away... but from there, access is more difficult. There is no infrastructure on this wild beach, so it is ideal for those looking for a secluded beach experience even during high season... you won't have to share the sand to put your towel on! Not bad for diving as it is not very crowded.
8. Spiaggia di Cala dei Frati
Cala dei Frati is a small beach 100 meters long, 2 to 10 meters wide, located between the beaches of Ghiaie and Padulella. It faces northeast, well protected from the sirocco winds, but receives little sunlight because of the shade in the morning and afternoon. It is composed of polished white pebbles and coarse-grained white sand, with a sea bed characterized by brown rocks, giving an amazing transparency to the water. The cove is reminiscent at times of Caribbean beaches. The view is magnificent, from the fortresses of Portoferraio to the eastern part of the island, dominated by Monte Grosso. There are no services on the beach (restaurant, WC, ...). The access to this beach is difficult, it is only possible to reach it by sea.
